Partial Dentures

As the name suggests, a partial denture is a denture made to replace one or more missing teeth in either or both the upper or lower gum in your mouth.

A partial denture is made to fit in and around your remaining natural teeth. The teeth are matched to the natural colour of your existing teeth so they will blend in beautifully.

A partial denture can be required for a number of reasons including:

  • Aesthetics or cosmetic reasons, to fill in any gaps in your smile.
  • Mastication – to improve your chewing ability.
  • Support – if remaining teeth are left unsupported they may also drift sideways or over erupt, making future replacement more difficult. This can also change the shape or structure of your face.
  • Phonetics – to assist with your speech and pronunciation of certain words.

If you have some existing natural teeth remaining, you will require an Oral Health Certificate from your dentist before we can do any work for you. This just confirms that your existing teeth are in good order and able to support a partial denture.

We can recommend a local dentist for you if you do not have one, or are from out of town. Please phone us to enquire on (03) 409 0770.
